Overview

This document will describe the routes of exposure to plastic pollution that result in the bioaccumulation of plastic and affect human health; restate the current study findings of human organs/systems where plastic is known to bioaccumulate; describe how nurses can reduce their own and their patients’ exposure to plastic.

You will need to pass the CEU post-test with 75% or higher to receive credit. 

Learning Objectives

By the end of the session, participants will be able to:

  • Describe the routes of exposure to plastic pollution that result in the bioaccumulation of plastic and affect human health.
  • Restate the current study findings of human organs/systems where plastic is known to bioaccumulate.
  • Describe how nurses can reduce their own and their patients’ exposure to plastic.

Required Activities:

    2. A Growing Concern: Bioaccumulation of Plastic in Humans, Nevada RNformation, April 2025 [Environmental Health Column]
  2. Achieve a post-test score of ≥75%.
